Yapping Maw

Yapping Maws are creatures found in Super Metroid that can be found in Lower Brinstar, Norfair, Lower Norfair, and Maridia. They have long necks that can expand to attack Samus, and have pincers jutting out in front of thier mouth. They will expand, bite Samus with thier pincers, and drag her down. On many occasions they will be resting on a bed of spikes, or something of the sort. And when Samus is pulled down, she will hit the spikes and receive damage until the Maw sets her free.
