Yellow Hatches, also known as Yellow Doors are a type of Door that appears in Super Metroid, Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. They can be destroyed by Power Bombs, and, once unlocked, do not need another Power Bomb to open again.
In Metroid Fusion, the Level 3 security door is colored yellow and any weapon can open it (after the security lock is lifted, of course). In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Multi-Lock Blast Shields are colored yellow in the key of the game map. In Metroid Prime Hunters, there is a Yellow-colored blast shield, but it requires the Volt Driver to open. In the original Metroid, a special kind of Blast Shield in Tourian is yellow, however, as Power Bombs didn't exist in Metroid, they can be opened by ten Missiles instead.
In Metroid: Other M, there are creatures called Desbrachians, which are initially seen as dome-like objects and act as Blast Shields that require Power Bombs to "open". The explosion awakens the bioform and it removes itself from the passageway.
Super Metroid manualEdit
"Super Bombs open Yellow Doors."
Metroid: Zero Mission manualEdit
"Only Power Bombs can open these doorways."
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes temporary scanEdit
"There is a Blast Shield on the door blocking access. Analysis indicates that the Blast Shield is invulnerable to most weapons. A Power Bomb may damage it."
